Web3 On-Chain Product Demo

Working with IOTA’s Product Adoption team, I designed the UX, content strategy and prototypes for an interactive Digital Product Passport demo.

The challenge was to make complex DLT and sustainability concepts understandable without reducing them to a simple product pitch. I structured the experience as a guided journey that introduces the underlying technology while showing how Digital Product Passports can support real-world circular economy applications.

The result is an interactive demo that helps prospects and DLT enthusiasts understand both the technology and its potential applications.

A guided experience

The demo opens by saying who you are and what you are about to do. Framing it as a role rather than a feature tour is what makes the technology underneath it worth following.

Two ways in

Prospects want to be led, enthusiasts want to poke around. The same build serves both, a guided tour with every step explained, or the dApp on its own.

The dApp, and the why beside it

The passport is on the left, the explanation on the right. Every screen carries its own teaching layer, so nothing has to be understood before it is seen.

Who says so

The manufacturer proves the passport is theirs by linking their identity to their own domain. Abstract until you see it answer the plain question of whether this record can be trusted.

Who is allowed to write

Only trusted repairers and recyclers can add to the passport. The demo introduces that rule early, because the next thing you do is ask to be let in.

Why anyone bothers

A verified service action pays out automatically. Circularity needs an incentive, not only a record, and this is where the demo shows it.

A tamper-proof history

Every entry is signed, timestamped and anchored. What regulators and future owners get is one record nobody can quietly rewrite.

You do it yourself

The reader requests access as a technician rather than reading about it. The concepts introduced earlier arrive as steps you have taken.

No wallet, no fees, no stopping

The entry is written on-chain, and the fee is sponsored in the background. The usual Web3 hurdles are exactly where a demo loses a first-time audience.
