Temple Run in Mini fashion

For MINI China, we developed a game concept that turned the brand’s go-kart feeling and cornering capabilities into a playful interactive experience.

Inspired by the mechanics of Temple Run, the concept put the player behind the wheel of a MINI in a cheeky chase through the city. I developed the concept and built a working prototype in Unity 3D, combining game development, 3D design and animation to make the idea tangible for the client.

The prototype was developed as a proactive campaign idea with the potential to create a more playful and shareable way of experiencing the MINI brand.

Go-kart feeling, as a game

MINI's whole product story is how it corners. A chase game is the most direct way to let someone feel that on a phone.

Earned points buy wheels and trims. The configurator every car brand wants, made into the reward loop of a game.

Run, crash, run again

Distance, collectables, multiplier, share. Borrowed from Temple Run, because the mechanics were already understood by the audience.

Built in Unity, not in slides

I built the prototype myself, the 3D, the animation and the game logic. A playable build is a different kind of pitch from a storyboard.
